Fast ForWord to Reading 1 software is a computer-based series of exercises that builds critical early reading skills, with a focus on phonemic awareness, early decoding skills, appreciation of print, and motivation for reading.

Based on research of how the brain learns, Fast ForWord to Reading 1 exercises use exclusive patented technology to help students build cognitive skills in the context of essential reading skills including:
  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Sound-Letter Associations
  • Phonics
  • Vocabulary
  • Sentence Comprehension
  • Paragraph Comprehension
This product focuses on the five components of reading:  phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Product features support students in achieving rapid success, often without any additional intervention. Some of these include introductory trials with visual-help, a vocabulary tool that allows for pre-learning words and concepts.

Teachers work with participants who are struggling with reading and need to develop the cognitive and language skills necessary to become better readers. Fast ForWord to Reading 1 consists of six exercises, which provide practice with the essential skills for learning to read.

This software follows Fast ForWord to Reading Prep as it continues to develop the essential cognitive skills of memory, attention, processing and sequencing, or Learning MAPS, which are critically important prerequisites for successful reading
